With honest humor and candid personal accounts, Magnacca reveals tips, provides exercises, and shares rare bits of wisdom to guide couples through hardships and helps them to work as a team, evolving from childless couple to expectant parents. Magnacca received the inaugural award for the category "Best Book, Coping" from RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association in the category of "an individual (or) organization whose printed book enhances the lives of people with infertility with a message of how to cope and live with the disease."
As suggested by the subtitle, "Survival Strategies for Balancing Infertility, Marriage, and Life," the book is much more than an advice column on creating a family. Several of the strategies contain advice on bringing couples closer together, taking care of the self or properly communicating with friends and loved ones. "The strategies in this book are just helping you be more aware, more conscious," says Magnacca, adding that many of her readers have suggested her book to people who have no problems with fertility. "It's really more about being grounded."
